The WordPress Website
Builder Plugin
That Doesn't Wreck Your
PageSpeed
Visual Forge outputs clean DOM, loads under 50KB of CSS, and never
locks you into shortcodes. Built by developers who got tired of
explaining to clients why their Elementor site scores 47 on mobile.

WordPress Page Builders Have a
Problem
fundamentals. The result? Sites that crawl.
DOM Bloat
A simple two-column layout in Elementor generates 37 nested div elements. The same layout in raw HTML needs 3. This isn't a minor issue—excessive DOM depth destroys rendering performance, especially on mobile devices.
Vendor Lock-in
Deactivate Elementor or Divi and your content becomes unreadable shortcode soup:
[et_pb_section][et_pb_row]. You're not building a website—you're renting one from a plugin vendor.
Asset Waste
Elementor loads hundreds of KB of CSS and JavaScript on every page—even if you only use a few widgets. These unnecessary assets reduce page speed.
847KB. That’s not a tools problem — it’s an architecture problem.
We Built Visual Forge to Fix This
Three architectural decisions separate Visual Forge from every other WordPress
website builder plugin on the market.
CleanDOM™ Rendering
Visual Forge renders your designs into minimal, semantic HTML. No wrapper divs for wrapper divs.
A heading widget outputs a single <h2> tag with a class — not 4 nested containers around it.
Average DOM depth per section: 3-4 levels vs. Elementor's 8-12 levels.
Zero Lock-in Architecture
Your content is stored as standard HTML in the database. No shortcodes. No encoded JSON blobs. Deactivate Visual Forge tomorrow and your content still renders cleanly in any theme.
We think a WordPress builder without shortcodes isn't a feature — it's a responsibility.
Zero Waste Loading
Only the CSS and JavaScript for widgets actually used on a page gets loaded. Using a heading and an image? That's ~2KB of CSS. Not 400KB.
This is per-page conditional asset loading done right — at the widget level, not the page level.

What Developers Are Saying
every week.
I switched 14 client sites from Elementor to Visual Forge over the past 3 months. Average PageSpeed improvement: 38 points on mobile. Two clients saw their bounce rate drop by 20% within the first week purely from load time improvements. The DOM output is genuinely clean — I can actually read the source code my builder generates.

The zero lock-in thing isn't marketing fluff — I tested it. Built a full 12-page site, deactivated Visual Forge, and the content rendered perfectly in Twenty Twenty-Four. Try that with Divi. You'll get 400 lines of [et_pb_*]garbage. This is how a WordPress page builder should work.

We manage 80+ WordPress sites for small businesses. Visual Forge cut our average page weight from 2.8MB to 380KB. Support tickets about "slow website" dropped 90% after migration. The conditional asset loading is the killer feature — our WooCommerce stores finally load fast on 3G connections.

What is Visual Forge?
Visual Forge is a WordPress website builder plugin that lets you design pages visually using drag-and-drop while outputting clean, semantic HTML. It prioritizes performance, clean code, and zero shortcode lock-in.
Is Visual Forge faster than Elementor?
Yes, significantly. Visual Forge produces 73% fewer DOM nodes than Elementor for equivalent layouts. A typical page built with Visual Forge loads only 38–48KB of CSS compared to Elementor's 310–420KB. Google PageSpeed scores typically reach 95–100 on mobile due to conditional asset loading, clean DOM rendering, and zero unused CSS.
Does Visual Forge use shortcodes?
No. Visual Forge stores content as clean HTML. If you deactivate the plugin, your content remains readable without shortcode clutter.
Can I use Visual Forge with my existing WordPress theme?
Yes. Visual Forge works with Astra, Kadence, GeneratePress, OceanWP, Hello Elementor, and virtually any standards-compliant WordPress theme.
What happens to my content if I stop using Visual Forge?
Your content remains as clean HTML. Only the Visual Forge styling is removed.
How many widgets does Visual Forge include?
The free version includes 30+ widgets, while Pro adds 30+ advanced widgets including Theme Builder, WooCommerce, Forms, Popups, and Dynamic Content.
Does Visual Forge support WooCommerce?
Yes. Visual Forge Pro includes Product Grid, Product Carousel, Single Product, Checkout, Cart, My Account, Mini Cart, Category Grid, and more.
Is there a free version of Visual Forge?
Yes. Visual Forge Free is a fully functional page builder with 30+ widgets, the drag-and-drop editor, responsive controls, CleanDOM output, and zero lock-in architecture. It's not a crippled demo — you can build complete websites with the free version. Pro adds the theme builder, popup engine, advanced form builder, WooCommerce widgets, and priority support. There's no time limit on the free version.
Why We Built This
a freelancer, then running a small agency that managed 100+ client sites. I’ve used every major page
builder on the market, shipped hundreds of sites with them, and spent thousands of hours fighting
their limitations.
The breaking point came in 2022 when Google started penalizing slow sites harder in search
rankings. Half our client portfolio was built with Elementor. Their Core Web Vitals were terrible. We
tried every optimization plugin — WP Rocket, Autoptimize, Perfmatters — and still couldn’t get
mobile scores above 70 because the problem was structural. Too many DOM nodes. Too much
CSS. Too much JavaScript.
We needed a lightweight WordPress page builder that didn’t compromise on design flexibility. One
that output what a hand-coded site would output — but with a visual builder interface our team
could use at speed. We couldn’t find one, so we built it.
Visual Forge took 18 months of full-time development. Every widget was written from scratch — no
forking Elementor’s widget code, no copying patterns from existing builders. We re-thought how a
WordPress website builder plugin should render HTML, load assets, and store data. The result is
something we’re genuinely proud to use on our own client projects every day.
If you’ve ever had a client ask “why is my website so slow?” and felt that sinking feeling because
you know the answer is “because of the page builder” — Visual Forge exists for you.
